Help reqd for downloading panels please
« on: December 20, 2005, 08:29:18 am »
Good morning everyone. I am ready to start my first day as a Eh pilot, however, I admit to being a little awkward when it comes to downloading files. The aircraft are causing me no problems but the panels I cannot figure out. No matter what I try, I cannot get them into Fs2002. Does anyone have any tips please? Many thanks.

Hi Ian !

Generally, FS2002 panels are divided into 2 sections:

1. The main panel folder, with all the large BMPs and the CFG goes into the desired aircraft's own PANEL folder.
2. The gauges folder that contain the gauges goes to the main FS2002/GAUGES folder.

Which panel(s) do you have difficulties? Installation, or useage ?

Hi Robert. Many thanks for your reply.

Please consider me a novice at downloading, would it be possible for you to give me an "idiots" guide from the minute I press the download nutton for example with the Beechcraft 1900D panel.

Thankyou kindly!

Well, it is not so difficult :

1. Download to a temporary directory.
2. Unzip to the same, or other temporary directory. Packages almost always contain 2 folders: Panel and Gauges. These will be unzipped to the temporary folder.
3. Copy everything from unzipped Panel folder into the aircrafts own panel folder, and overwrite anything there.
4. Copy everything from unzipped Gauges folder into the FS2002/Gauges folder.

You are ready. ;)
