But how?
I was on final, landing checklist down to the line...ILS established and then i selected flap 40...
When using PMDG i move my speed selector to VREF, and then the plane kept loosing speed....
I slipped below the glide slope and had four red lights on the PAPI...So i disconnected the a/p and autothrottle, and applied full thrust for a go around.
I realised that is wasnt having effect on engine power so i pressed the TO/GA button (take off/go around) and this had no effect, so i made a turn and aimed for a field...AutoBrake on max..
Safely landed then hit a tree....How embarassing.

Any ways, does anybody have ideas as to what happened

well..it was the PMDG Boeing 737-800 with Winglets, fuel had about 40% of the center tank remaining. I remember Bruno telling me that he had some power problems with the same plane.

You should use your centre tank first and then your left and right tanks later...

Hi,

I think that maybe you forgot to disconnect the Auto-Throttle because when you disconnect the general AP button (bellow the 2 AP buttons) it dont disconnect the Auto-Throttle (only when you touch on ground).

Yesterday I got that problem too with my PMDG when landing with THAT :@ airplane on Menorca, but I quickly disconnected the Auto-Throttle and got the airplane on the safe on the air again ...

I did disconnect, no effect, then i re-connnected it to press the TOGA button, do raise in power so i disconnected and ditched her in a field, it would have been a good crash landing if i didnt hit the tree

I don’t think so; the blame is most likely on you

If you’re on approach and you set your flaps in to late to 40  then you will be to high on the glide scope but don’t panic if you let the autopilot do his job he will correct it.

And think also what was the wind and wind direction?

And if you programmed the FMC correct you can see on the approach page the flaps speed settings. ( you see it also on your primary flight display- left off the airspeed indication until flaps 25)), and change the flaps after reaching the indicated speed.
If you do it on the right way it will land automated and stop on time (set first your auto brakes en speed breaks) reverse trust you must set manually.

about the power loss with fuel only in the center tank. It may sound silly but are you sure all fuel pumps were on?

As I recall fuel from teh wings tank can be fed to the engines by gravity alone (up to a certain point). from the center tank you will not have enough fuel pressure resulting in a power loss from the engines.  

And indeed as Tim stated. you should use up the center tanks first;)

Ok, i can see my mistake now, Center tank first ....I intend to make that my only crash.

@willem... I pretty much fly exclusively PMDG, and i havent had a problem with the way I have deployed the flaps.
