Hey there,
Just got back from a country called Bhutan, and i thought i would share my experience.
Bhutan is located in the Himalayas, East of Nepal, South of Tibet and north of india.
I was part of a school expedition to the country (the first ever school expedition in the world to Bhutan) and we spent 2 weeks in the country.
Bhutan is a diverse country with many characteristics, the people are so friendly there, they treat you like Royalty, everyone is equal there, in stead of Gros National Product they have Gros National Happiness and the list goes on and on.
We flew into this country and spent the 2 weeks exploring their culture and spending the time trekking through this amazing country.
The day we arrived we walked up to "Tigers Nest" the Dzong (Monestry) on the cliff.

Im the one on the left with the red rucksack!

After this short and tiring walk (ofcourse after the past 20 hours of traveling from London Heathrow with around 5 hours sleep in a hotel in Bangkok, we looked forward to retiring to our hotel in the Capital of Thimphu.
The country of Bhutan has a population of around 800,000 - 1,000,000 and the capital's population estimated at 40,000. The city has many little shops and markets around with everything reasonably cheap, just one sneaky problem, there are tourist prices and local prices!!!

Looking at some of the cultural aspects now:

Also Wangdu Dzong in the early morning mist.

In Wangdu we went to a local school and played a football match with their team, i wish my school was half way on the mountain with these views.
I decided to play in goal, in which i though was a wise decision as we were playing at 3000 meters! Not alot of Oxygen!

Me about to kick the ball.

Team photo!

Now moving on to the Trek.
We started walking up the Paro River Valley, heading for jumolhari basecamp.
A sign as we entered the national park

The next morning we awoke, and a selected few were chosen to ascend a ridge to 5200 meters,
i was one of the 4 that went up and here (in my view) are some of my best shots!

This brings the thread to an end, but i do have hundreds of pictures (around 800), if anyone wants to see anymore just ask!
Also i would love to here some feedback, if anyone has any questions just ask!!!
Cheers
Conrad
