So close yet so far

I'm sure most of the Brits in here saw this from the weekends newspapers:

Although this looks like a close call and certain disaster, it turns out the Aircraft (DHL A300-B4 & JAL 777-300ER) were in the holding patern over LAM (Lambourne VOR) on aproach to Heathrow, they were not as close as they seem! (British CAA officials say that the 1000 ft seperation limits were not breached)

Of course, the British tabloid press made a field day out of this, a photo taken by a spectator at the West Ham Football match on Saturday!

If only he had seen Tim and I on the Long Fly In over the weekend ;)

Yes, i was at the West ham - Sunderland match a 2 weekends ago and those aircraft are quite close when they go over there...i think that 300ER is just so massive, that it looks so close :P
