A single space for the screenshots from the VFR fly-in on 2006-02-27. My shots first, since I'm making the thread... :)

Early on, everyone (but me, just off-screen SW corner) outbound from Sofia

And everyone landed (barring Paolo Mazzolani, who'd already landed and left)

Slightly better angle, all the callsigns are visible. Right to left: Christian Bakke, Murray Crane, Jonathan Rasmussen, Gergely Kosa, Robert Szikszo, Phil Nutt, Jim Hoyle and Leo Van Dijk

Well thanks for organsizing another memorable fly in Murray, and well done to everyone who took part for making it through the bumpy clouds en-route...
Gergely got lost:P but we pointed him in the right direction...

So lets get going with these pictures...It must be said that \i messed up my FS9 when changing some textures...so visibility didnt work and I had the time shifted to day...but you can see the EHM Massif departing Sofia...

After my departure, still a few EHM planes to go...

added on 27th, Imageshack works now:P

Reaching extended cruise alt of 9500ft, at our planeed height of 6500 we we're hitting some bumpy cumulus clouds, so we climbed higher, and Gergely went lower beow the cloud base.

On my downwind leg, and ready for turn to base...Just letting murray get far enough ahead of me...As you can see on the next shot, i buggered up the turn from base to final lol

Get off the Runway Murray mate!

Say cheese Murray! your on camera!

The President himself arriving near the rear end of our convoy.

And here is the money shot...All of us apart from Paolo who disconnected before i could take the shot.

The end of another great flight, one of the best events yet....great job everyone....

Also, great video phil!

Hi Murray,
Can you tell me where I was when you saved those pics?? I thought I landed at Sofia for third or fourth and I parked the aircraft not far from you...:] nice photos.
Waiting for the video,

Paolo, I think you just went offline before we all got on the blocks to make the shots. Blame Jims mysterious go around!!!!!! :P (I think there was an unidentified aircraft on the runway as he was on finals!)

(By the way, I am just baking the video for upload, should be online by Midnight Zulu for you all to have a laugh at!)

Here's the Video, not strictly a screenshot but I will post it here.

http://www.savefile.com/files/5275605

This is a file download, I have tested it and the server is quite fast. You have to click on the file download button for the Euroharmony file which takes you to an advert. Click "Download file now" when you get to the advert page. The file is 12mb in size so you may need a broadband connection for it. I will try and post it as a stream later for those that are on Dial Up. This link will be dead after 14 days of inactivity.

Let me know what you think.

By the way, I know my takeoff was terrible (way off to the right) but I was trying to film and fly again! I skipped the landing as the framerates took a dive as I was coming down due to all the online traffic.

I can explain all... sorry Jim. When Jim was on short final, my radar went really weird and literally hundreds of aircraft appeared all over it - you appeared airborne again Murray. In all the calamity I didn't have a clue which were real and which were fake so I sent Jim around... better safe than sorry.

In my own defence, I *was* airborn again! Sat on block with everything cold and dark (even had the Dreamfleet tie-downs attached), and FS decided I crashed and threw me back on approach!

I disconnected from IvAp as quickly as I could (not quickly enough, clearly) and re-landed (on taxiway A), then slew back to parking.

Paolo, Phil is correct in his guess that you vanished just before I took those pics. I've checked all of the pics I took (a good dozen, mostly identical) and you're not in any of them :( If only I'd gotten an "on-ground, Sofia" shot...

EDIT: Nice video Phil.

I was wathing Jim come down and I must admit, I saw a plane with no "Tag" come shooting down the runway, thought it may have been one of us trying to give Jim a scare. :)

Paolo,
At least you show on the top picture, the one of Murray's FSNav screen I guess. (you are in the video too, that is you coming in to land as I am taxing to the gate!!!! I know, it's too small to tell, but I know it was you mate :) ) Unfortunately, my intention was to park far enough over to let everyone else fit in between us for the closing video shot but I think everybody had the same idea, knowing that the last in the line gets the best picture. ;)

What a brilliant Fly-In my friends!

The pilot's number didn't surprised me because we are actually growing a LOT from fly-in to fly-in ;D ..

Also, this makes me feel dissapointed by the fact that I didn't got in time to be there too :( ... Maybe next time ;) ..

Yep, it was great ! As usual ;D I led the convoy from behind, because I chosen the quite slow Piper Cherokee. But again I was not the last one to arrive so I am happy about it. And again I had sometimes difficulties with TS, but did a great flyin. Thank you guys. See ya next time ;)

Fantastic shots, and superb video Phil ! You are getting better and better at every effort.

Thanks Razza I downloaded the pic and now it will be my screen saver. I am very happy because I thought that no one of my friends will believe me without pics :>. Now they will be jealous only because they don't know what happened after landing: I was trying to stop the aircraft but I forgot the speed maintainer on so my engines continued to push the fokker and I had to use pratically all the rwy to stop ;D
See you at the next fly-in,

hehehe...we all saw you there Paolo...
ATC was terrible that day...some silly kid trying to annoy us all....:P
Nah, Iain was really good...got us all in a nice pattern....and we all landed safely...And ATC is also better than Unicom...

If you enjoy ATC, wait until the next event which is still in planning(yet TBC)

Razza you little tinker, give away the secret ;)

Expect the announcement soon for the March event, it is likely all participants (no matter what callsign...) will need plenty of time to prepare... (could really use YIM's :-? smiley right now)
