Hi there all!

Just a quick message to bring people's awareness to an expedition.

In october 2006 i will be embarking on an expedition to nepal to climb a mountain called "Mera Peak". It is located in the everest region and that means flying into the airport of Lukla (VNLK).

This mountain towers into the sky at around 21,830ft and will be a great expedition. This expedition will be in aid of JDRF, (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) a world wide organisation set up to fight Type 1 Diabetes and find a cure.

The reason for me choosing this organisation is due to my sister being diagnosed with diabetes 1 1/2 years ago.

Just want to start brining it into the open. More on the business side, if anyone would like to see thier company/logo featured at 21,830ft on a banner than please email me with how much you are willing to donate and your logo and you will be featured at the 21,830ft! This pictrure is likely to be seen over local news, newspapers, Diabetes magazines and others.

Every little bit helps.

You can checkout my website:

Cheers
Conners!!

Good luck, Conrad. I hope everything goes well for you on the trek up the mountain; maybe you could put a EuroHarmony logo at the summit? ;D Then EHM would truly be high in the sky!!

How about an EHM event to support you. Perhaps there could be a flight established in honour of supporting this worthy cause and pilots invited to donate through a link on the EHM site. (Something really simple like an address and name for the cheque and maybe a Paypal donation button.)

The very best of luck to you with this Conrad and it's admirable that there are folks like you getting off their proverbials to do something that makes a difference.

Does anybody else feel that this sort of initiative should be supported by EHM?

BTW - great site ... clear and clean presentation and really engaging.

Certainly plmyphil, EuroHarmony should be one of the main supporters ;D

A fly-in to VNLK would be an awesome way to donate money, I think many pilots would be interested in flying it. What do others think?

Well unfortunatly, i am having to scrap this expedition, the polital situation in nepal is too unstable and Civil War is about to break out.

So i have decided to head to S. America and climb Aconcagua which is the highest in S.Amerca and is around 22,950ft ;)

That was a quick switch for a week - from Nepal to South America. Either way, it sounds as though keep the forum posted and we should be able to do something as a VA to support the project. At the very least some sort of sponsored fly-in would focus our attention at the time.

yeh i think nepal will be very unstable for quite a while, the counry has been unstable for a number of years now,  and finaly its going to run into Civil War so i think it will be like this for a while.

So S.America it is
