Removed from the roster
« on: April 24, 2006, 07:35:11 pm »
Hi,

I've been without FS on my computer for a couple of months due to a defective HDD that I had to replace with a small drive that wouldn't have the capacity for FS9 so naturally my last flight is from 24.01.2006 exactly 3 months ago... I have just installed FS9 on the new drive and after going through the burden of installing all the add-ons, aircraft, EHM Flight Logger, ActiveSky and all the usual stuff I have found my account removed. I know this VA like any other has rules but an email warning about the removal in x days would be more kind? That way I could explain that I was trying to fix my computer, etc

Best regards,

Nuno,

Not to worry, our pilot roster system doesn't actually remove you when you are marked "Removed". It was merely an indicator of time inactive and nothing more.

In actual fact, this is one of the (many) things we will be "fixing" in the coming days and weeks; there will basically be only two statuses - "active" and "inactive", with a fair gap between the status changing, and with plenty of warning via email.

Any way, to return to your immediate "problem", just fly and PIREP a flight and you'll be back active in a matter of seconds :)

Hi Murray,

Thanks a lot, I thought I've been actually removed and had to start all over again as a new pilot. Now back to business, I think I left that Fokker 70 in Russia    on my last flight and now I must take it back to the Zurich hub.

Thanks! :>

Hi Nuno,

I just filed a Pirep again after not been in the sky since 02.06.2004.

The only problem I had was looking for my password on my old harddrive but I knew that my status would change from removed to active again after submitting the Pirep.

Sure felt good to have the stick in my hand again and make a centerline landing in raining conditions without any practice landing. (I did not tell the passengers about that :P)
