It's important to have the FL running before engine start, and after engine shutdown. Here is what I do when I'm not ProPiloting:
1)Select flight in the online timetable
2)Start FS in windowed mode, shut down default Cessna because its easy to shutdown at any airport
3)Load FL, select flight and aircraft in FL, double click timetable flight line to move to correct airport gate and set time
4)Select required aircraft in FS (which should then be shutdown)
5)Check FL selections of aircraft and route, then move to the Logging page
6)Maximise FS if desired and fly
7)After shutdown, window FS
8)Check stats in the FL, adjust if necessary
9)Save ACARS and PIREP, submit to EHM and IVAO if flying online
If no data is recorded, check you have FSUIPC.dll in your Flight Simulator 9/Modules folder.
If propiloting, then book your flight in the online propilot system instead of step 1; step 2 as usual; step 3: simply press the propilot button instead of manually selecting, and then double click flight line as usual.
Good Luck
