To the Management: Flight Hours.

Okay, management,
I don't mean to be rude, but I feel I must resort to this. Exactly how long does it take to check a PIREP? Since my return to Euroharmony a little over a week ago, I've flown three flights for EHM for a total of over 4 hours. Well, none of the PIREPS for these flights have been checked yet, not even the first flight which was flown on the 15th of this month. I emailed my HUB manager, Gergely Kosa about this, but that apparently has had no effect, as the PIREPS are still unchecked, and so I still have no flight hours. I don't know, I guess he must be very busy right now or something, but Kosa hasn't even replied to my email either.

I look forward to continue flying for Euroharmony again, as I know this is the best VA in the world, and I've seen it grow alot since I first came aboard in 2001. I understand the whole idea behind having the HUB managers check PIREPS, but I would just would like to know why my PIREPS have gone unchecked.
Please help me resolve this matter.
Best regards,

Miguel Trujillo

It has said you've done you three flights, but the hours havn't been put on. Normally (well for me), the hours are added instantly.

Manybe a bug or something...

Hi Miguel, if you use the Flight Logger you don't need to have the HUB manager check the PIREP. Just a little bit of advice :)

Miguel,

Please excuse our tardiness, Gergley is away at the moment with real life commitments and does not have internet access.

I have looked at the backend of the system and checked your PIREPS so your hours have now been added.

I would like to say, because of real life situations like this we can not guarantee when yours (or any bodies for that matter) manual PIREPS will be checked. Unfortunately when one of us has real life commitments to look after then the VA has to take a back seat I'm afraid. It is also the height of the summer holiday season and staff are stretched.

I would like to add that we now have an automatic PIREP system available called Flight Logger. Your hours added using this software will be inserted in to your records immediately. I suggest if you want your hours added quickly and easily this would be the way to go. You can find it in the Downloads section of the website and it comes complete with the operating manual.

Hope this helps,

Okay....
Sorry if I seemed a little antagonistic. I just wanted to know what was up. Now there's another problem. My flight hours have been added, but I think they total up to double than what I actually have. It now says I have over 8 hours, which I don't quite have. I've only flown about 41/2 hours. Please check it out.
Thanks for everything,

MZT

Yeap, use the flight logger for instant record for your flight you just made it,  instead of manually sends your PIREP

Hi Miguel,

We will check it out ASAP. Sorry for the incovenience.

I suggest you use the Flight Logger. So, in this case, your flight time is added automatically.

Management,
Now I have yet another problem. The Flight Logger won't work. It did record the log of my last flight, but when I tried to send it in, the computer had crashed. Fortunately, I had saved the PIREP. Well, later when I tried to resend the PIREP, it gave me an "error reading PIREP" message. And now every now and then when I try to start the Flight Logger I get the following error message of"Run-Time error '94': Invalid use of Null."
Well frustrated by the Flight Logger's quirks, I went ahead and submitted the PIREP forms of my last two flights manually. So if you could also please look those over as well. And please help me out with this Flight Logger thing - tell me what I can do about its error messages.
Thanks,
MZT

Miguel, that's the well known KATL Hub bug in FLogger v3.0.6 The new FLogger (available soon) will fix this amongst a few other bugs.

As a workaround, change hubs to one of our older ones and resubmit.

Hi there Miguel, I had the same problem. As Murray said you can change to an older HUB and it will work (did for me).

Hi,

Armando already solved the "KATL Hub" problem, but unfortunately we are getting another error related to the login action.

So, expect some more days until we can finally deploy the correct version (got rolled back twice :( ) ...

Sorry for the incovenience.

Nope. Changed HUB to LSZH, didn't work. Oh well, I guess I'll just wait for the new FLogger version to come out, I guess.

Euroharmony
You really have got to sort out this pirep problem. After all flying and filing is at the heart of VA membership. If people take the time and effort to take on your routes then you owe it to them to see that there flights are checked promptly and correctly.
If you have a manual Pirep filing system then that should work and if you recommend a program like flight logger then that should also work to.
cheers Andy
Right I'm of to check my pireps

Hi,

On our statistics, we have about 70% of our flights made on flight logger and added automatically.
On the other 30%, are manually inserted flights via our web site.

There is a very, very small percentage of pilots (for not saying only 2 or 3 pilots) who had tried to first save the PIREP using the Flight Logger, and then load them on the FLight Logger to send them to the web site.
Here, on this last situation, is the problem that we are having (on 3.0.6) because we didn't tested it as we should had.

So, what I suggest, is to do the flight using the FLogger and send them immediately without saving it to send it later.
Also, if you are doing a PP flight, you cannot save the pirep. For now, this feature is disabled for flight logger flights.

In conclusion, on Flight Logger 3.0.7 we will correct three situations:

-> Login problem (the BEO or EOF error).
-> KATL Hub.
-> Save PIREP for non-PP Flights.

Maybe, we should just make a topic with all the problems we may find, because things just pop up. The route finder doesn't work, U2u doesn't work, Pirep doesn't work, Awards doesn't work etc. so maybe we should just try to find all these problems, instead of them randomly popping up, and then we all know what is good, and what is bad?

It's only a suggestion, but then some people may have problems with things others don't, and that's usually the case.

Hi,

The Route Finder works fine Matt. I never saw complaints about that. If so, then it's a problem on the route finder site, and not on the Flight Logger.

Regarding the Pirep and awards we know that. I still don't know why are you all trying to press us to solve it out.
We already told to our pilots that we are solving those problems, and i don't understand why are you always saying the same things.

Regarding the topic, there is a sub forum for that. It's called "Euroharmony Technical Discussions". :) Use it to put your problems once.

Ok. When I said Routefinder, it's like you find EuroHoliday class 1 flights, and things like that.

I'm sure you guys are doing your best to solve these problems, and we're lucky we have an MT who will even look at it let alone fix it!

and oh, yeah. I didn't think of that lol!

Thanks Kevin,

Now the Holidays have calmed down it seems to have eased considerably. All Hub Managers are back at work and as far as I can see we are on top of things at the moment.

Cheers for the offer.

Is there a way to log a flight with the Flight Logger and then submit the PIREP from another computer?. I ask that because I don't have an internet connection for a while (upgrade from 56K modem to DSL). I've logged my first flight in the website (manual).

Well if the flight logger was installed on the other computer, and you transfered the saved pirep onto the other computer, then i dont see why it wouldnt work. Just make sure you have the latest version (3.07) and its no a pro pilot flight.
