Hi pilots...I am sooo sad...
I am in queensland, Australia now, 16000km from home and I'll spend here the next 3 months...and today my dad has just told me that he had to reset my computer and he kept only my music!!!
I had something like 15Gb of FS add ons...and I don't really want to think about it...my 777 destroyed...
Ivao, teamspeak, fs navigator, 4 or 5 payware sceneries, tons of AI aircrafts, tons of photos, my solo flight diploma with rod machado...
The flight logger, fs passenger, I had the complete EHM fleet on it, my spitfire...
I spent two years building that thing...and now...I have here only a stupid russian flight simulator payed 9$ and a joystick that comes from the 80's...and I am so stupid because I bought the October copy of PC pilot and I have to burn it if I don't want to cry every night reading it...:[:[:[
Only positive thing is that all school stuff was destroyed...I always see the positive face of life! :>

I am very sad too. That is why I always make a separate partition, or even a separate, but smaller HDD for FS. If windows, or other things would crash or needs to be deleted, FS remains there.

Since I have a lot of money spent in FSaddons I always make a back up in CD of every single Fs addon I buy, who knows :s


Btw, if you bought some through Simmarket, you can still buy one year backup guarantee product, so you don't have to buy the whole product again.

Thanks guys for help, I don't know why, but I am excited too...when I'll download all the things togheter will be like we I joined this airline and it was really cool. I know I'll have to spend weeks to go back to the normal situation, but it will be worth. And I think I wouldn't have ever deleted so many files that were on FS but that I didn't used, like an horrible flying tea pot...

yup...all of my stuff has just gone aswell....had to re-format completely, so ive lost all PMDG's, loads of VFR scenery and 750MB of music...:|

Now ... what have we learned from all this ... that's right ... backing up is important ... well done.

Seriously though ... tis a right royal pain in the backside when computers go tits up like this and you know you have weekends of looking forward to trying to put things back together. However, on the positive side of things... I would take it as solid evidence that the previous machine no longer is fit for purpose and buy a new one that runs FSX nicely ... mmm ... please ... computer gremlin ...strike me too ...
