Hi Rico,

if a pilot uses the Flight Logger, he will appear on the AFCAD map in real time as he flies, together with information (e.g. plane type). Last evening there were 7 pilots on the AFCAD map!

Sorry Gergely but thats ACARS.

AFCAD is basically a program that lets you change the way AI aircraft use airports, and the way the ATC tells you to use airports.

You can't actually change the layout of airports or the way they appear in FS, but you can change the way the runways are used and you can change where taxiways are, and where aircraft park.

Recently I used AFCAD to edit EHAM because I fly there so often. I have almost all of the project AI airlines installed, but by default, almost all of the aircraft at EHAM are KLM. To get round this I edited the AFCAD adding hundreds more parking stands so that there were many more aircraft able to park at EHAM. To cope with the extra traffic I then edited the runways so that one is used for landing and one is used for take-offs.

There is a very good instruction manual included with the AFCAD program, its definately best to read through it first.

As for project AI, make sure you have downloaded the installer program, otherwise nothing will make sense.

I think you mean ACARS Gergely.

AFCAD is a tool to change the parkings, gates, runways and taxiways for the AI planes in FS. If you install a 3rd party scenery or airport you will probably get problems with the gates being in the wrong place, the AI planes taxiing in the grass and so on. AFCAD gives you the opportuniy to change these things yourself or to download and import already made AFCAD files for the airport.

At Project AI's homepage you can find many AFCAD files for both the default airports and for different 3rd party ones.

With AFCAD v2.21 for FS2004, you can change the visual layout of the airport... you can add/remove taxiways, runways, aprons and other surfaces, but no buildings.

Thnx for the help guys.. it all makes kinda sense now...
this AFCAD, does it makes the modifications automaticly , or do I have to spook around with the FS files.. ??

And i've just downloaded some 130 Project AI Airlines to add to my FS... how do I get them installed???

and if this AFCAD does not do things on auto, can you donwload premade packages for certain airports like EHAM??

To install the Project AI files you need to download the installer which you can find here. Then just run the installer program and select the .PAI file for the airline you want to install. It will probably take you quite a while to do it for each of those 130 airlines, but it will be worth it.

As for the AFCAD, the program makes all of the changes as you use the program, as long as you save at the end each time. But it really is very complicated, you have to be running FS at the same time and everything, you really need to read the manual otherwise everything could get messed up. Thats what happened to me the first time I used it anyway. ;)

You can download premade AFCAD files that other people have made. One of the places is the Project AI AFCAD. But I couldn't really understand all of that, to be honest once you've got the hang of using AFCAD it's simple enough to do it yourself.

If you dont want to go through all the hassle of getting all those ProjectAI files. Theres some pritty good AI packages about $25 if my conversions are right. Hope this helps.

Another tip if you want to install PAI packages: get EditVoicePack, the newest version, and update the airline callsigns... It's really nice.

With the PAI-installer you don't have to install each package separatly (this is only the case with their model packages.) You can select all the PAI-packages in the installer and then install them all at the same time.
