Luciano,

Unfortunately we have been hacked the site will be taken down and we will probably shut the forums too so as to secure any possible back doors in to the server.

We will get things back to normal as soon as possible,

Thanks,

Phil Nutt

Ok, Ben, Javier and I were looking about the place trying to see what has been hurt, and for the MT's info, we found that the event page has a new event: Dakar 2007. the page itself is exactly the same as the old one. I don't know whether this actually is the next event:s but I'm just making sure

Also, the online flying page has seriously been mucked up. Most of the events have been deleted, and by the looks of it, Murray was the only one who flew in one of the events!

none of the screenshots work in the screenshot page also

Just thought we could help!

We regret the fact that our website got hacked yesterday evening.

EuroHarmony has grown very fast in the last years, which is great ofcourse! However, when you attract more people to our great community/airline you also attract people that have different intentions. Yesterday evening, we met such person who had bad intentions.

In my personal life, I know many hackers. Friendly people who hack websites to make the owners aware of possible security leaks. Most of the time, the result of being hacked is a message on your front page that makes the webmaster feel ashamed; nothing more.

The person we were dealing with yesterday is, unfortunately, less friendly then we hoped intitially. The removal of all files on our server was the result. Besides that he also placed some strong language on our first page.

We are a group of hobbiests who bring to you this great hobby. We are not full-time website/security experts, so there's always someone who's smarter than us :). This said, I regret the fact that this caused our website to be offline for half a day and the loss of a tiny ammount of files. I also regret the fact that the person who did this makes other, friendly hackers look bad.

Perhaps Matt is right. However I think the best thing is to ignore him. I seems like he want us to feel something and talk about what a **** he is.
However since we are dealing with one of the less friendly kind. I would ask people to scan their system, if you haven't done it already. He may not have put any bad thing into our system, but just to be on the safe side.

Altough scanning your system on viruses is always recommended I can assure you that the EuroHarmony website and all other related programs do not affect your systems.

I already scanned my system looking for some possible virus infewction, but it seems this hacker wanted to attack only our VA files. My system is clean. Nothing suspicious so far.

I'm in the process of scanning mine, and I'm happy to report nothing so far :)

As for the hackers, LOLOL! I find this whole thing so terribly funny!! It's not funny for our hard working MTs, who have to work to clean up what he's done, but I find the fact that he thinks he's special and he thinks he's a good hacker... by hacking a virtual airline!!! Haha! If you're reading this you little runt, take some advice; get a job and move out of your mum's house because, to tell the truth, you live a sad, sad life.

An airline as great as ours offers a nice target for these low-lifes and so I wonder if there are any extra security measures we can add to prevent this from happening again? Obviously it would be impossible to completely stop it but I believe that we shouldn't need to; I hope there aren't many people like this who, sadly, inhabit the same planet as us.

Hacking a virtual airline is the dumbest thing I've ever heard... Although I think IVAO was hacked some thime ago... Still, a lot of pathetic people... Hope the team will rebuild the site without much work ;)
