Ivan,

I don't know if this might be your problem but I just installed the new A330 and I see that in the aircraft folder there is a Modules folder. Did you install the two modules in that folder into your FS9/Modules folder?

If so that might have caused a problem as I remember reading in another Forum about some panels using an old 'gps_export.dll' module that caused FS9 to crash. FS9 already has a version of this module and older versions can cause a problem.

So, you need to go into your FS9 installation and check the date of this module in the 'Modules' folder - my one has the date of 01/09/04 and is the original one off the FS9 discs. If yours is older (the one in the A330 folder is dated 01/04/2002) I would suggest you copy it somewhere safe then explore your FS9 installation discs and find this module and copy it across, overwriting the older version. Then see if FS9 starts ok...

EDIT: Just thought of another possibility. Are you aware of the [Old Modules] section in your FS9.cfg file? If not it may be you need to add the following there:

[OldModules]
FSSound.dll=1

to allow the FSSound.dll to work properly...

If this doesn't solve the problem I'm not sure what will solve it - as Robert says there are so many variables between different systems.

Good luck!

I just installed a new panel for the Fokker 70, so it is finally working... wow. I am absolutely blown away by the new model and especially the sounds! It certainly sounds a lot more powerful and is a little heavier on the controls but that's ok. It will surely be a pleasure to continue flying it on the world tour!! :):)

Just to pick up on Christians point above, can anybody else confirm problems with the SAAB 2000 Bouncing?

I have tried it numerous times tonight on my setup but it works fine.... Then again, I have had so many versions, I may have a something wrong in my system that stops it from happening. :)

Thanks.

I discovered bouncing with planes only on runways that have Bricked surface. As soon as I changed it to concrete in AFCAD2, that bad effect gone.

Thanks Dominic... I haven't copied the files from the aircraft folder.... and I have added the fssounds to the fs9.cfg file... :((
But why does the FS crash when I delete the plane? I'm not much into programming, but is there another place, besides the aircraft folder, from which I have to delete something?

Ivan,

When you install a new plane there will often be new files for that plane installed in some other locations apart from the 'aircraft' folder (as a general rule, some don't but the more complex/interesting the plane the more likely it adds other folders ;)). The most common are:-

the gauges folder (where the gauges for the instrument panel live),
the effects folder (to see things like smoke when your wheels touch down),
the sound folder (often little sounds for the panel like the click noise some switches make or GPWS whooping noises)
the modules folder (where FSSound.dll and other .dll's live)

There are some utilities that scan your installation of Flightsim and remove surplus gauges etc (as long as no other plane uses them too) - you could try one of these to see if there's something extra got into your FS9 that doesn't need to be there... Search for 'GaugeExplorer' or 'FlightSim Manager' under FS2004 Utilities on Avsim - I haven't included direct links so you can have a look at the descriptions and see if they suit what you want before deciding to download...

From your original post you mentioned a 'Lago' folder - this (as far as I know) won't be anything to do with our fleet... Do you have any planes or addon scenery by Lago? Is there a 'Lago' folder in your FS9 installation?

And finally (and forgive me if you do this already) have you run a virus check on your system and checked your hard drive for errors and defragmented? Problems in Flightsim can be caused by other issues in your computer setup because FS9 is such a demanding application...

I hope you can solve this Ivan, if you need any more explanation of my post please feel free to ask.

I downloaded both, but with gaugeexploerer I don't know really what to do, and the FlightSim manager which I downloaded from avsim.net crashes, becaues it's an old version. I try the adress it gives me, but it doesn't exist... :(((

EDIT: I'll reinstall FS... I'm desperate and pissed off... d**n MCROSOFT!!! ;)

Ivan,

Very sorry I couldn't help - I haven't used those programs from Avsim myself so I wasn't aware they weren't very user friendly :$ I was just going from other people's recommendations...

Hope you can get flying again soon ;)

Thanks Dominic for the detailed explanation. I am sorry that the A330 may caused some harm to the system. It is true that the gps-export.dll should not be there for FS2004. I will fix that issue tonite. Also I forgot to fix the A330 Virtual Cockpit, and will do it as well ;)

Robert,

Can you give Ivan a list of files that the A330 installer package installs outside of the aircraft folder so he can delete each one to try and rectify the problem without having to re-install.

Thanks

Sure, and will. The funny thing if you install it to the correct folder, there should not be any problem, because the nasty DLL was packed to a wrong path, where it cannot run from ! Anyway I will fx this issue.

Well... Didn't work. Re-installed the whole FS and crashed again... The same error with initializing POSKY Airbus A330-300 v2
I just don't know what to say...
And to think I have to reinstall all add-ons all over again... and for nothing...

I have just downloaded the new fleet, and there is an error in the E170 aircraft.cfg file stopping the panel from being loaded. If you open the aircraft.cfg file, in the first section on the line panel= there is a 3 following the = sign this has to be removed and the file saved and the panel will now display.

There is also an error in the A333 aircraft.cfg file where the panel= line has vc following the = sign, but there is no vc panel so the vc has to be removed in order to display the panel correctly

Bruce,

I think it's a typo in the A333 .cfg - the vc should be after "model=" rather than after "panel=" so if you swap the vc between those two you get the right panel and the virtual cockpit!

Thank you Bruce, it gives a little light to the darkness. The problem is that the airplanes are placed in development phase at me, and when I collect the files for installation, some bugs can remain in them.

OK gentlemen, as Bruce said, we have 3 small bugs so far: in the B767, A330, and E170. The A330 Virtual Cockpit issue was fixed (at least it works at me) All these 3 packages are now uploaded to the site.

About the SAAB bouncing, there must be something different in our systems. I found very strange behaviors at the A320, which was invisible at the betatesters.  Now I corrected it, but the change is still invisible in their FS. Now I can only think about FSUIPC.dll It can change a lot of things in FS depending if you have registered or unregistered copy.

As I wrote in the installer, the AutoThrottle does not work on the SAAB because FS cannot control the torque of the engines.

I tried that, and it removed my A330 from my computer. I'm downloading it again and I will let you know how it turns out...

Edit: I just uninstalled, re-downloaded and re-installed the A330. The panel and virtual cockpit work!

Before I re-downloaded, I edited the .cfg file to say "panel= model=vc" and then simply deleted the A330 folder from my aircrafts folder. I downloaded the v4 A330 from the fleet page, installed and it all works! The .cfg file says:

"panel=
model=vc"

Maybe if others follow this it will work for them! Thanks for the help Bruce and Dominic ;)

Before i forget, is the A330 supposed to lean back and let its tail hit the ground with full fuel load? :s

It always depend on the summa payload. In case you do not load the plane over MTOW it should not do that. If you overload the plane it can be either nose or tail-heavy, resultingweird movements.

BTW, if anybody have problem with the A320 nosegear, and too much bow when braking, please report...I already have a fix for that.

For Robert

I am not one to post many items on the Forum, unless I need help, which is always there.

Robert, you have done an amazing job on these Aircraft. I just did a short flight with the B1900 and it is teriffic!!

I'm sure whatever bugs are found will be quickly corrected,; however you did great work here, congratulations are in order.
This is a significant improvement to the overall appearance and effectiveness for our V.A.

Many Thanks for all your efforts!
