Certified Pilot Award Issue
« on: December 26, 2006, 10:57:58 am »
Hey guys,

Don't know if this is something the MT is aware of. If not I'm just going to drawer their attention to it. I think theres a problem with the award script. I don't know if it's gone on holiday, in that case it hope it flies EuroHolidays ;D.
No seriously, I think it has stopped handing out awards. I myself is waiting for a UK tour award, and I have done a spot check on a couple of other pilot. And found at least one other UK tour and Sweden. Of course I can't be sure if all their PiReps has been checked (in case they have been filed manually)
But I know that mine has been checked sometime on the 24th. So if the script still run once every 24 hours I should have had it by now. So when one of you script developers get a minute, do you mind having a look at it.

Same here guys.
For other awards though. (European etc.)

What the heck, the staff has sorted all the big issues, they can afford to let that one slip a few days.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year

Hi Guys,

This could be something that was missed after the Hacker Attack. I am sure Maarten, Bruno or one of the Dev team will have it fixed when they get time, I think they are still suffering from Christmas lunch ;D

Cheers

Bruno, Any news on this ? I've completed my UK Tour and all PIREPS are recorded and I still did not receive the UK Tour Award.

Thank you

My awards have also been updated, thanks a lot. I just have one question: as I finished the Capitols of Europe Tour wouldn't I get the Cobalt European Pilot award too?

Hi guys,

I'm glad the award engine is back in action but I'm still showing as Silver European - I've checked my flights and according to previous posts listing the 'acceptable' European countries counted, I'm over 40...

Could someone check for me at some point please?

Thanks and a very Happy New Year to you all !

The Cobalt European Pilot award has always been a bit tricky, and it sounds like it still is. My guess is it the old USSR republic that still make a mess of it

Yes, I saw previous posts suggesting that all 'U' prefixed countries only count as one and that the former East German 'ET' isn't counted separately either... But I still reckon I'm at or over 40 countries ;)

But I could be mistaken... ;D

hhhmm ...
I analysed the script and it is correct. You need to have 40 flights departing or arriving from 40 different european countries.
The ICAO country code 2-letter prefix must be contained in :
'EB','ED','EE','EF','EG','EH','EI','EK','EL','EN','EP','ES','ET','EV','EY','LA','LB','LC','LD','LE','LF','L G','LH','LI','LJ','LK','LL','LM','LO','LP','LQ','LR','LS','LT','LU','LV','LW','LY','LZ','BG','BI','UK','UL' ,'UM','UR','UU','UW'

So, I am going to check manually your flights in order to look at it.

Regards,
Bruno Falcão

I've been through the list again and I don't think there are any European countries left I can actually fly to on EHM (except maybe ET which is part of Germany and UR...) and my country list is at 43 now!

Don't get me wrong - I'm not so much bothered about getting the award as intrigued if there's another European country hiding out there with a cloaking device on..? Maybe Narnia or Middle Earth should be on the list..? ;D

Anyway, I'll wait for the answer... ;)

Hey Dom.... Don't be silly..... Every one knows Middle Earth is in New Zealand!!!! ;) Narnia on the other hand is on the other side of the wardrobe from Europe so can not be counted as European!

You have landed at Vatican international airport haven't you??? Oh and then there is San Marino and Monaco! hehehehe.....

You find the one you are locing for at: Lat: 64° N 7' 48" Long: 21° W 56' 26"

It's in region Bravo in the ICAO system.

Christian,

I assume you mean Reykjavik in Iceland? Although I've not flown to BIRK, I have been to BIKF just along the coast, so it isn't this one... And I've been to Greenland too, even after I saw the debate about geography vs constitution :P

And Phil, tempted though I am by the idea of trying to land within the confines of St Peter's Square in a 737, I'm not sure His Holiness the Pope would continue to use EuroBusiness afterwards...

Ho hum, better get back in the air to look for Neverneverland... ;D
