Here’s the longest stage of the rally – by the end of the day, almost a thousand kilometres will have been clocked up! To set off on this long preliminary liaison leading to the Mauritanian border, you have to get up extremely early in the morning. Then you need to apply yourself to navigation by heading and off-road, yet more techniques for drivers and co-drivers to get to grips with again. At this stage in the rally, just one piece of advice: play for economy.

Today I heard from the news that a southafrican bike rider died during the fourth stage, he is the first (and I hope the last) victim of this year...
I think that unfortunately, this race is famous especially for these sad things but this is still a extreme race and risk is a main part of it :|

heard that too... it's ashame... another thing that's ashame is that when i was about an hour in to my flight, my computer reeboted :O guess if I were frustraded..! I'll have to fly the leg tomorrow if i have time... :%

my whole schedule crashed! but it wasn't against the rules to fly with 2 or 4x time compression, so i must be able to fly this leg tomorrow.. the only problem is that i have an enormous physic test on friday, covering the whole course..! so the time is a little short..

so for the moment i'm taking a break from the studies and enjoying these photos =)
