Hello All,

I set-off in real life from LSZH to EHAM and then to Mexico MMMX for business but during the EHAM MMMX leg I actually fle on FS as well  using the same weather (which by the way was awfully windy in EHAM).
The captain was kind enough to give me a print out of the flight plan and clearances so even the route was identical.
Well, the realism effect was tremendous!
Flying a big jet on FS while your seat goes through the bumps of real turbulence.
At a time, I was able to watch my flight's progress through the 747's displays.
The difference was that I had to speed up the sim rate to catch up with the real bird as I had to start about 40 minutes later and also had to arrive 40 minutes early.

The only big disappointment, was that FS crashed on line up with ILS on the runway to Mexico City.

Oh well, there's always the return leg in 5 days' time ;D

wow! Must have been a lot of fun! I'm assuming you used a laptop, couldn't imagine an actual computer! But how does your laptop handle? I mean, from hearing of peoples experiences, after installing FS on a laptop, the laptop will never work again!

Hi Matt,

well, it's a bit of a mixed bag.
It works OK even though my laptop is rather modest. (2 year old dell)
I made sure I nstalled no sceneries or any fancy planes.
Just plain old FS4, FSNav and our birds.

Saying that, it causes havoc with my business acct. when it tries to synchronise the default saved flights of FS.
Overall though, FS is running smoother than other games I played while flying.
I think the key is not to overload your memory or your hard drive and you should be OK. ;D

6 years? Javier, you have one of the biggest airports right down the road!

Coming to think of it, how did you get permission to use your laptop on the plane?

Hi Matt,

if you look at the post you'll see that the laptop was scrictly off below the real FL010 (climb and descent) but it's ok to use it while in cruise mode.
No network connection though since Boeing scrapped its Connexion by Boeing service :-(

Just make sure you don't mess up his laptop, or he may be upset. :];D:]
I got several issues with mine which took some work to sort out, so be careful.

And have fun
