Full size simulators !

Another great find I made while on holiday was the Jetstream 41 Simulator at the Old Liverpool Airport... The wonderful Art Deco airport terminal has now been turned into a top quality hotel (because the airport itself has moved a mile or two south east of the old airfield).

So if you're in the area of Liverpool any time soon, try the Marriott Liverpool South hotel and if you look in the rear car park, which used to be the apron, you'll see a Jetstream 41 parked there...

This is being preserved by the Jetstream Club who have turned the cockpit into an educational flight simulator. It's open to individuals or groups to visit for free or to fly for a fee, and having tried it out, it's great fun!

They are also in the early stages of restoring a Bristol Britannia there and you can have a look round that too so a real treat for classic aviation fans :P

Does anyone else know of flightsim sites worth visiting? Post here so we can all support these worthwhile ventures ;)

Hi Dom,
Have a look at following site:
www.ProSim4u.nl
They are busy to get a full motion 737 simulator.
But as with a company at Lelystad Airport (EHLE) they experience
delay in delivery of the hardware.
In fact I had booked already a flight there but it is posponed.:'(
Cheers,
Jaap

That looks very nice.

When I was on work experience at Oxford Aviation Training, I got two runs on their 6-axis 734 sims. Those are pretty good. They also took me for a real-life training run for a 7-ship formation (instructor was PIC, I was in the RHS. I picked him up for failing to set the QNH :P). That was pretty good as well. I also went in the control tower for a morning, which was pretty good.

Overall, it was pretty darn good!

Well my experiences of a full size sim is.....

http://www.realsimulation.co.uk

I have flown their B737-200 & F4 Phantom but they have recently got 2 new sims, the 747-200 & Sikorsky. Although these are simulators of old models, they are quite well kept full motion sims and the cost of flights with them is very reasonable compared to those of sites that run sims for the modern equipment. Also they are aimed almost solely at the enthusiast and the trainers are real world pilots who like to share their knowledge.
