Strange Fuel Consumption Reports

Why do I see many pilot reports showing negative fuel consumption? That really seems to mess up the statistics.

let me make a guess... after landing, the pilot stops near a refuel area, so the fuel will be 100%, so it will be greater than the initial value... and the Flight Logger gives a negative value as a result. Or, the pilot 'refuels' during flight, and the same problem occurs. Maybe Armando can give a solution to it (e.g. the logger will stop recording the fuel amount if it becomes greater than the previous value).

When I use the logger It's always shown negative numbers for fuel consumption, I never really thought it would mess the statistics... I always thought it was that way.

Hasn't all of this got to do with the whole issue of whether you start the flight logger when you already have engines running. If this is the case, I'm sure Armando fixed this and people need to update their logger.

It may well be Joe... I do start the flights with the engines running, have to update my logger.

Cheers,

Alex;)

All of this don't change the fact that the statistics already has been messed up. I'm no ekspert, so I don't know how much changing in the script it will take, or if there's anybody left that can do it. But I was think perhaps we could get the script to disregard any negativ fuel consumption, so they didn't effect the stats. But as I said I'm no ekspert and don't know how much it will take.

Merlin's suggestion sounds good.
I'll change the script ASAP.

Can you guys please provide me with an
example flight number?

Look up Flight 7007. If you need more try browsing flights flown by EHM-1220. There are many.

One thing to note........can you be completely sure that those with positive fuel consumption are true consumption values?

I'm not 100% sure what you mean by that. If you mean can we be sure that the value the flight logger sends, equals that of fuel comsumption you get if you use manual logger (pen and paper) I guess the answer to that is no, we can't be completely sure about anything. I always use my own personal flight logger Flight Tracker that I have paid for, when I fly, and in cases where I fly a flight from the time table I also use our flight logger. And there are no or very little difference between the fuel consumption in the two loggers.

The flight statistics script has now been
changed to disregard PiReps with negative
fuel consumption.

Thanks for reporting the problem guys.

Ciao ciao!
