Boeing 777 Climb problem

I've tried flying the Boeing 777 at high altitudes like 30000 Ft. recently and there seems to be a weird problem. As soon as I take off and cross 1,000 ft I usually turn the following things on:

Altitude
Speed
Y/D
Nav

First the ATC gives me some altitudes which are usually below flight level, like 12,000 ft and after I reach 12,000 I get 20,000 and more. So let's say my cruise altitude is 30000 ft and now the plane is climbing from 12,000 ft to 30000 ft. Now what happens is, the speed decreases very fast and this is my guess - the plane has a very fast rate of climb even though I set it like 100 ft/min in the A/T VS. So now what happens is, the speed decreases and decreases and finally we stall and the plane doesn't climbs anymore and I have to manually control it.

The most strange thing is even though I set the Climb Rate to 100 ft/min the speed still decreases. And yes, I did re-check that my speed hold is on. I usually enter a speed of 320 for these kind of altitudes and it does reaches 320 IAS in the first few climbs but the speed starts decreasing all of a sudden in the final climb.

Well Sameer,

I have tried out the same and could not realize the problem. My climb rates were:

230 kts, 1000 fpm until FL50
250 kts, 1500 fpm until FL100
280 kts, 2500 fpm until FL150
300 kts, 2000 fpm until FL200
320 kts, 1500 fpm until FL250
320 kts, 1000 fpm until FL300
320 kts,   500 fpm until FL350

There was not any problem, except 1 that is not aircraft specific, I think:
At me, and only sometimes, when I want to push over the job to autopilot (everything setted correctly) at about 2000-3000' it pushes the nose down and I have to fight with the autopilot to keep the aircraft in the air ... But after the situation stabilized within 20-40 seconds, everything went well again.

I recommend to check sometimes the aircraft from outside. I usually hit my joystick unwantedly and later realized that I am flying with gears out, or with speedbrakes... I know it sounds dumb, but sometimes worth to look around the plane from outside.

Anyway, I do not know what Y/D is for, so I never use it. If you still have problems, try out this FDE

Oh sorry I was talking about the Default Boeing 777-300 in Flight Simulator. Should have written that in the post. :s

Well I extracted the file you gave me into my default B777-300 folder and replaced the aircraft.cfg of the default one with the EHM one and now it's messed up. Umm I need the aircraft.cfg of the default Boeing 777 now lol.

Try it with less fuel, and also check for things like speedbrakes obviously. Maybe it could be that you are starting your climb off at too high a rate in the first place and before you reduce your climb you are already too slow to maintain speed. I have found this problem sometimes and the only way of getting out of it has been to descend. Just make sure you stay above say 320 IAS in all of your descent and as soon as it starts to go below reduce the climb rate.

Well it's not the speedbrakes. I strictly follow the checklists which come with FS and I always turn the RTO off and retract the flaps completely after takeoff. And then I don't do the climb, the Autopilot does. And I don't even tamper with the rate of climb, the autopilot has 1800 fpm by default. Everything is fine but after a little while when we keep climbing the speed reduces, and the rate of climb increases all of a sudden even though the A/T shows only 1800 and I also change it to like 500 fpm and also 0 FPM but it keeps climbing and then when I manually try to climb the plane I have to use very, very little rate of climb or else it'll loose speed again. In short, the problem is:
I keep loosing speed as I climb, even with little rate of climb.

Oh and I want the aircraft.cfg file of the default B777-300.

Do you have FS2002, or FS2004, coz I can send you the 773 cfg for FS2002.

Oh I got the file from a mate. And Joe Dabry was right. I start my climb at a very high rate which is 1800 fpm. This time I started my climb with 500 fpm and then as I reached the second phase of climb I did it 1000 fpm at 12,000 ft and the speed was still 320 and then the climb to 22,000 was at 1,500 fpm and the speed was still 320.

Now I don't trust the Autopilot anymore. It climbs at 1800 fpm in the starting which it shouldn't do.

Well its still weird because you should be able to climb at 1800fpm with no problem in a 777, but if this has solved your problem then ok.

Well the 777-300 is a very powerful aircraft and in fs2004, i managed to climb at 2000fpm up to 10000ft with no problems maintaining 335Kts. Once passed that I set it to 1000fpm and then maintained that till 3000ft, still keeping the same airspeed. Then 500fpm till 39000ft cruising altitude. Easy as pie.
