Arrived @ the KLM Flight Academy
« on: October 04, 2004, 06:30:53 pm »
Hi folks,

Today, my lessons at the KLM Flight Academy began.

This week I am starting with a simple course to update my physics skills to the desired level. Not very stressful I must say. I had only 3 hours of physics today and some homework. Of course the teachers have more things to do for us in the upcoming days.

Next week, the study starts and then all of my class mates will arrive. In that same week, we will meet the student club (I have the feeling there is another word for this -club-), so then everything will start rolling.

I am at Groningen Airport Eelde (EHGG), so if there are people who want to visit me virtually, land at rwy 23 or 5 and taxi to general aviation ;).

I am going to my homework now or else it will be late tonight :)

Hi Maarten, good to hear from you. And I know how you feel, I had double physics today, 1 hour 40mins in total( half of your time) and I had homework due for tomorrow

Very best of luck to you Maarten... to quote from South Park; "Follow your dreams, you can achieve your goals..." (I'll stop there, as what follows is, of course, "I'm living proof! Beefcake! BEEFCAKE!"... ;D)

Well Tim, if you mean the coming weekend. I'm sure Gergely won't try to arrange a online event on such short notice. So I'm sure you can enjoy you weekend without having to think about that.

Tim its not as easy as it seems! Sometimes things start to not work... thats very frustrating... Anyways a year-end or christmas one would not be as good as a lot of people are off... Maarten! Good luck! sorry for not replying earlier, the log idea is very good.

Cheers,

Alex;)

Alex > The new IVAO pilot client will come out soon. Instead of configuring and starting 5 programs, you'll have to puch just one button and you're online.

I don't know anything about the VATSIM client, but I'm sure they will have one soon, too.

While I was GB staff, I got to use it (well, the old beta of it). The new beta looks even better, but I dont get to use it any more... :{

I'm kinda hoping it gets released soon, as I don't want to have to go back to SB...

a website I go to, ATCBox.com, also has a nmber of weblogs. Some of them are airline pilots, others are ATControllers, others are PPL pilots etc. Anyway, it's the airline pilot's who are restriced in blogging.

Transavia pilots are allowed to but not allowed to mention the name of the company. KLM pilots are not allowed to blog at all, and it wouldn't surprise me if KLM Flight Academy students aren't as well. Sobolo, a fellow ATCBox member is already blogging his KLS experiences (he's in the same class as Maarten). If it's not allowed, we'll know soon enough I guess.

A program that starts everything at the punch of a button?! Thats awsome, I knew that the new pilot client would have some modified things but no that! Anyways i'm looking forward to it!

Hi!

Quite busy lately. At tuesday and wednesday, I have my first prelimenary exams, so I have to study a lot. The first three tests include: meteorology, principles of flight (aerodynamics) and air law.

Air law is the subject where I learned for the whole day. Sometimes I ask myself, why do I need to know the distance between the lights (of the same type) of the runway? So do me a favour and don“t start about runway lights and/or signs.
