Flight logger 4.1.2
« on: April 19, 2011, 07:47:12 am »
Hello, I tried to load the new version of flight logger for FS9, but got the following error message: "System.data.SQLite.Version=1.0.66.0. Culture=neutral. Public
Key Token=db937bc2d44FF139 or one of its dependencies. Attempt was made to load a programme with an incorrect format."
I've noted that this message error was already reported, but I would really appreciate to know how this can be sorted out! I am not an expert, so please provide me with as many details as possible. I use windows7.
Many thanks in advance,

Gian

Hi Gian,

by default, FL4 places a file called "System.Data.SQLite.DLL" in the folder where you installed FligtLogger.exe. This is by default a dll for a 32 bit opresting system.
Assuming you have a 64 bit version of Windows7, replacing the dll file with the 64 bit version should do the trick. You can find the 64 bit version in the subfolder "x64" under your Flight logger installation. Simply copy that one, and paste in the same folder as FlightLogger.exe is in, saying "yes" to the question if you want to replace the existing one will do just that (there is a backup 32 bit file in the "x32" folder, so there's always a chance to return to the current situation). Just check during the "replace yes/no" question to see if the file size of the files are different, and you are sure you are actually changing something ;)

Hope this is helpful. If not, feel free to ask again! :)

Thlks Eric-Jan for your prompt reply. However, still unsuccessfull: in the folder X64, I indeed find Flight logger, flightlogger.exe and System.data.SQLite.DLL, but do not understand what you mean by "find the 64 bit version in the subfolder x64 under the flight logger installation", which should thenbe copied in the same folder than Flightlogger.exe, which by the way does not seem to be a folder itself...sorry to bother you again...If you may be more specific...thank uo,

Gian

Gian, are you running a 32 bit or a 64 bit operating system? (Let me know if you are not sure).

In the normal flightlogger download you have Flightllogger.exe, Flightllogger.exe.config and the System.Data.SQLite.DLL as well as two folders - docs and x64. (You must extract these files, and not try to run them from inside the zip file).

If you are on a 32 bit operating system, you just run the flightlogger.exe file (or create a shortcut to it and run that).

If you have a 64 bit operating system, then in the x64 folder is another System.Data.SQLite.DLL file (on its own). Replace the  System.Data.SQLite.DLL file that is in the same folder as flight logger.exe with the one that is in the x64 folder.

Then run flightlogger.exe again.

OK Gian, be aware that there is a known issue where if your connection drops it won't let you submit the pirep at the end. It will twell you it is in 'offline mode'.

If this happens to you, Flight->save (save the flight), then restart the flogger and Flight->load (load the flight) and then submit.

There is a fix for this coming in the next release.

Thks. I was just going to inquire about that, as I could not submit my PIREP. Now I know the answer: you are above expectations!  ;)

Just finished my first flight with FL 4.1.2 from KATL to SKBO. At the time of PIREP sending I got the XML Transaction failed message. It also said I was offline but I was online. What did I do wrong? Thanks in advance.

Note:  I am placing this message here as my first sent after landing apparently was not sent after I clicked on the Post spot.

Good pilots keep their number of landings equal to their number of takeoffs. Takeoffs are optional but landings are Mandatory.

Thanks a lot Alexander. It worked. My confusion was that I never got disconnected but it is fixed now.
