New Idea for an VFA tour
« on: November 10, 2004, 08:11:48 am »
For those of you pilots like Scott and Rico who have pretty much completed all the EHM tours, I came up with a new challange. I call it, the Lowlands Tour. It is a journey around The Netherlands and Belgium visiting big and small airfields.
The breif design is to go like this but I feel it needs improving.

Amsterdam Schipol
Leewarden
Gronigen
Arnhem(not sure if it has an Airfield or not)
Eindhoven
Maastricht
Leige
Charleroi
Brussels
Ghent
Antwerp
Breda
Rotterdam
Amsterdam
If anyone has any ideas about improving it, post here

Well, I dont know the airports/aerodromes that you mention ... I cannot be a good help on that.

But I think is a good idea do create more tours... What about a tour do airports near beaches or paradisiac places ... ?

Nice work Razza. I've just finished the last official tour and am currently looking at starting the missions. :]

Bruno, fly euroholidays flights. I've found lots of nice places to visit. :8

Hey John,

it sounds like visiting famous WWII locations. ;) Would not it be rather a historical tour than a Flemish tour ? ;D

Hey Razza!

I completely support your idea. Personnaly I enjoy flying different tours. Right now I am finishing Alp tour for the second time ( repetition after bc ).
Make a good plan of your proposed tour and see what Gergely and others will say. I have very simmilar idea for a long time, but need a certain time to make a definitive plan.

That looks a lot better than mine. I can tell that you reseacrched it much more than me. And you can see that you know your geography of that area.

Hmmmmmmmmm.........

I'm not too enthusiastic about the idea of this tour because of two reasons:

- The world isn't yet so detailed in FS to allow the enjoyment of any VFR flight. In Western Europe, all you'll get in FS is flying above the same flat land. It's worth making tours only in places that are enough scenic even in FS (Alps, Scandinavia, Greece...)
- We have a lot of tours and about 25% of our reported flights are tour legs, more than all sub-divisions' (B, H, C) reported flights at one place! We'll go bankrupt like this! :P

LOL looks like the tours are really too popular ;D hmm.......if what gergely says is true then there's no point in flying that tour at all.......may as well fly some of the normal routes by the sound of that

Ok no problem, just another idea. i think that if pilots fly in addon scenery and use netherlands 2000 scenery, they will get a pretty good idea of what it is like.
What I know is that when i fly a flight, i download all the addon scenery I can get so that it is realistic. And there looks to be plenty on offer for this corner of the Europe

Well Razza that's true, but not all scenery is of the good one. Some of them have a tendency to eat up your frame rate, not to mention harddisk space. At the moment my FS takes up nearly 12 GB, 4 of them is add-on scenery and another 6 is the aircraft folder. Mostly PAI planes and of course our own.
