Very, very late update...
« on: December 02, 2004, 08:15:55 pm »
Hi there again,
as I mentioned in another thread, I started making some scenery objects to improve our EHM feel. :)

This should be double hangar for medium size aircrafts(though B734 could fit barely)

Not much for start(3 hours spent), it's still WIP... just want your comments and suggestions. I plan to add some objects in front of it, or maybe some low-poly vehicles, when I find time...

Cheers

Wow, that is incredible Dejan, It is great to have you back on board, would there be any chance of getting a bigger hanger for the class 6/7 bracket of planes, great work all the same.

@Razza:
Thanks for your kind words, there will be bigger hangars as well as smaller ones, cargo storage, etc... just one at a time..:)

@Tim:
Hi Tim, I use 3DSMax 7 for modeling and use Gmax only to convert the model to .mdl.

@ehm-1365:
Yep, that's the one.

Okay, I've captured a screenshot of LSZH area, meaning to discuss and decide future hangar positions and types. Any ideas and suggestions appreciated...
Should we have more than one in a row, or maybe break them on several locations.?.

Number 1 is the one I made, positioned right between two default hangars.
Number 2 & 3 are another possibilities.

Feel free to save&edit the pic if U have better knowledge of how these things get organized.
Awaiting LSZH manager to post some directions... ;)

Looks great! ;D Better than anything i could have done :P Would be good to break them all up with hangers for different sizes of planes at different locations......after all they do not park in the same place do they? ;)

I know that I sound really pushy and don't want to cause offence but here is just one little Idea.

A small Alpine VA have made a terminal for at Sion and Geneva. I was wondering woruld it be posible to make an EHM terminal, obviously better looking and more detailed than this
Here to view it

Ok, here are my ideas for a development sites at EHAM,

We will call this dev site 1

We will call this dev site 2

Some plans.
Right here we go, Dev site 1 is where the KLM and Martinair hangars are. There is a nice space next to them circled that is flat and looks pretty large.
As you can see below, it is able to fit at least two A340-600s.

Next we have dev site 2. The circled area shows a nice patch of developable land directly parralel to the terminal and looks just as big as dev site 1

See what you think about them!;)

Hi guys, first thanks for the tips...

Zhen Yi, yes I thought of braking them up into classes(small, med, big), and position them with some logic... I mean you can't find GA parked next to B744 hangar?!

Hey Razza, you are not causing an offense at all, don't think about it. For being pushy, hell, I can't blame U :) You should see me, when I realized that EVERYTHING can be inbuilt into FS if modeled correctly:) My brain is in stormy weather now...
But, one step at a time....

Another thing is, I appreciate you making suggestions for EHAM,  I think the last two are definite... Though, I will jump on EHAM only when I am done with LSZH, sorry.
In the meantime, explore LSZH sites and suggest.

Pity that FS hangars are sooooo gloomy, dark and grey that every piece a bit more vivid, looks like from out of space. Nevermind, I will make ours modern, with clear and bright colors...!

Cheers

Well here is my suggestions for LSZH.

It is very large and offers lots of potential due to the links to Runways and termainals.

And there is the comparison with a AN124 ruslan, large ain't it;D

Great idea! Razza about that last position I think that it isnt that great because of it being right in the middle of runways/taxiways. It might mess circulation up...

Anyways great idea about the terminal I think its also a good idea... maybe a small one at the hubs...

Cheers

Alex;)

I think that if it is in the center and not obstructing the texiways, it will be fine.

Heh, the first location that catched my eyes, but I decided to avoid it, partially for....:
1. As Alex mentioned...
2. Way too BIG, if we make few hangars and an office building it will look abandoned and forgotten.
3. If we fill up the whole site, we go back to 1.

Terminal is really a great idea, I already said. We'll have one for sure!
Thanks for support

Airlines have their own terminals too? :o how about taking up some of the grass areas along some of the long taxiways?

Most large airlines have their own terminals at their hubs, for example in Dallas it was AAL and here in Spain its IBE.

Hi guys,
just figured out how FS supports transparency and alpha channels, as well as specularity..

Here are some tests of EHM large hangar...

Will leave those models unfinished and start with the terminal.
Keep you posted.
Cheers

Hmmm...I think we found the perfect person for the perfect job ;)

Looks stunning! You could sent it to airports too, maybe they would order some real plans after these images! A brand new era of hanger building could come ;)

Tim, most likely the output of 3DS Max 6 is compatible with Gmax.

Dejan, your experiment with transparencies are fantastic,
and I love your hangar design, with those roof-windows.

Ciao ciao!

i like them a lot. I have one recommendation. You could put some static vehicles around the outside or mabey some mechanics aswell to give the place some athmosphere
