I'm new here and I just wanted to say hello to everyone.  I've thoroughly picked through the website (I'm a bus driver who obviously has too much time on her hands in real life - hehe).  I have also perused the message boards here and I just wanted to say that I'm very impressed by all the hard work that has obviously been put into this VA and by the friendly attitudes of all the people here.

I look forward to getting to know everyone better!

Thanks everyone!  

I'm not too sure I'll be on IVAO anytime soon... somehow the thought of making a mistake doesn't seem quite so bad if I'm making the mistake offline.

I'm afraid that I'd miss a protocol or make some other blunder and be forever known as a dunderhead.

I'm sure it's not quite so extreme, but as you can see, I'm a little apprehensive.

Are most people who fly online understanding of the learning curve and all that?

As someone who now flies (pretty much) exclusively online, I think my contribution to the thread will be:-

We were all noobs to begin with (even me with my well over 500hrs piloting online on IVAO). I'm sure, like most other folks, you'll take to online flying like a duck to water, especially since IVAO released their new pilot client to the clammering masses.

Given your geographical position, I wouldn't expect there would be much ATC about (in Europe) when you would do the majority of your flying, so the only person you'll need to impress is yourself...

Tell us something about how you got into FSing, what do U do in life etc...

It's not an everyday news we see female pilots.
I remember online encounter once with a German lady, as well as another one that was ATC at Vienna.
That's all from my experience, I know there are alot somewhere in the skies...:)

It will probably sound odd, but I got into FSing because I was afraid to fly.  In the past when I was a commercial passenger I'd be the one that you'd see ordering several gin and tonic's in hopes of either passing out or being so looped that I wouldn't care when it came time for the dreaded landing.

I figured that learning how flying works would make me comfortable with it.  Now I love it and in real life I have the opportunity to go to school to get my private pilot, commercial pilot, and instructor licenses through a local college.  Now it's just a matter of saving money for books!

For work I drive a 72 passenger bus.  It's not quite as much fun as flying, but I still enjoy it.

Thanks... I have been flying connected to the net and using the logger, so hopefully I do show up on ACARS (it's so much easier using the logger... I don't know what I'd do without it now!!).  I have to say, this VA is excellent!  You can really tell that a lot of time and energy goes into making it as nice as it is.

I noticed that it says I'm 2004 years old also... and just after I'd accepted the fact that I just turned 30!  ;D
