Hi Miguel,

if it's the 'Melbourne' Legs you're referring to, then you will have to do them within the dates mentioned. :'(

Better get airborne soon... ;D

Mates,

The last week was very bad for me on the office and I didn't got time to check out the emails.
Some of them were related with the F1 event and with some things that I had to do, so I decided to delay the last two legs until March 22th.

This only applies for the last two legs.

Regards,

Sorry if the F1 teams fail to make it to the starting line but im still stuck here in Kuwait.
After the problems i had with the 2nd leg (mentioned elsewhere in the forums---power cut--)
I was unable due to time constraints make it to Melbourne:$

So good luck to the rest of you .Hope you continue to shift that equipment around the world.

p.s.
I work for Michelin in the real world perhaps i realised you won't be needing my cargo after all :]

Hehehe, Maclaren get their first win for 18 months, I hope it is the first of many for Alonso and Hamilton. I am so Happy for Ron Dennis, he is one of the sports greatest ambassadors and a really nice guy.

I think Massa made a terrible mistake when trying to overtake Hamilton for the second time and I think that played on his mind for the rest of the race as he never seemed in contention after going off at turn 4. If Kimi had another 4 or 5 laps I am sure he would have got that Ferrari past Hamilton!

I think the tragedy of the season so far is Renault and Honda.... Both teams have completely lost all momentum and BMW & Williams seemed to have gained it!

Ok guys, let's load up.... Next stop Dubai and only a week to complete the flight!

The first shipment have arrived to Bahrein. The cargo terminal is very small. Unpack the plane and move it out ASAP ;)

Well, I 'clicked' on the deadline at virtually the last minute.
Take-off was on 23:00 on the 14th!!
At least all went well and now there's 16 of us continuing the marathon.
I had a closer look on the dates (my planning skills are notoriously lacking!!) and saw that some legs are quite challenging time-wise (5 days to complete).

Saying that, it is definitely an eye-opener and has helped me prepare for the class 7 birds I am now allowed to fly.

See you in Barca everyone

And then there were 13....

Well, 13 of us reached Barca in time and let's hope this won't be an unlucky number for any of the pilots.
The good news is that the next one is a REALLY short leg and the ones to Canada aren't due for a few weeks to come.

Looking forward to Monaco!

Well, I just delivered the hospitality suite for the Vodafone Mclaren team to LFMN. The rest of the team will follow next week as they are stopping in France for testing at the Paul Ricard Short circuit on the way over to the Côte d’Azur.

Some facts bout this years car, the Mclaren MP4-22....

It goes from Zero to 160kph and back to Zero again faster than most Hot Hatch sports cars. (EDIT take to get to 100kph!) (6.6 Seconds)
It Can decelerate from in excess of 250kph to a stop in 3.5 Seconds. (With forces on the driver in excess of 5g)
There are over 11,000 individual components that make up each car.
Can replace all four wheels and refuel over 80 liters of Mobil Unleaded petrol in less than 7 seconds. (it takes 29 people to perform this)
Will perform almost 4,000 gear changes per car during the race in the upcoming Monaco Grand Prix.
Will transfer in excess of 30 Tonnes of equipment to the Grad Prix including 3 complete race cars weighing only 600kg each!
Will complete almost 55,000 km of testing during 2007.
Will Win both the constructors and the drivers championship! :)

Good luck Lewis!

On a side note, I would just like to congratulate DC on his 5th place finish for RBR and the Honda team for getting both cars to the end of the race albeit a long way back! Now Massa has the edge over Kimi, I think this will be a very interesting season at Ferrari!

Hi,

We got some complaints regarding the last sunday server problem.
So, we had decided to delay the end date for the last leg. It ends at 16th May to LEBL.

Regards and sorry for the inconvenience.

Be carefull with CYUL....

It was very unfair after a more then 8 hours flight LFMN-CYUL and so finish my F1 event.

When i approach appears a S3 ATC....but the problem was a bug, because the ils course sended me outside of the rwy, even so i tryied to land parallel to the rwy...and when i touched the grass..BINGO..you crash into a building....what building???? i only so green grass in front of the plane...Bye Bye Formula one event....

It is really sad news Luis. I just landed yestrerday morning safely, with a freeware add-on scenery...perhaps that saved my career :o

Well, to be honest, that is why Decision level is there for. If you cant see the runway clearly at decision level (around 200 feet) you can still end your approach and make a go-around, or try to land at the alternate airport.

I remember some extremely foggy approaches at Africa during the Dakar, when I scanned for the runway at 100...150 feet height with gear out and flaps out. Then I made dangerous manouvers when suddenly saw it, but never landed on the sand.

I am not to complain about this, because the responsibility is mine... and as it is usual, I feel myself sick when this happens... because I am always with the sensation that I could prevent it . It was easy to disengage the autolanding and do it by hand....

There was clear sky and i saw very early that i was landing on the grass parallel to the rwy , but after 8 flight hours, maybe i was too tired to think(dinner was on the table...ehehe) and i tryied deliberately to land on the green grass.

Now, i don't know if it is a scenery bug or someting else, because during all the flight (747-400 PMDG) with LNAV engaged i had always a 20º degrees difference between the the true heading and the FMC heading. Maybe IRC or GPS error?

See you again on ProPilot after the suspension....

How many people are actually still involved in flying this event....
Seems alot of us have dropped out for various reasons - would be interesting to know what percentage of those who originally signed up for the event are still flying it.

Well, if you go on the "lock flight" section on PP you can see that there are 14 reserved planes at Geneve that never took off + 2 spare planes. In Kuwait there are 2 planes parked, in Kuala (we landed there twice) there are 6 planes. In Melbourne 3, In Bahrain just 1. It means that 12 pilots are still participating at the event (they are at Nice or at Montreal).
Totally, 12 planes crashed during the event.
In conclusion, it means that we started in 49 (counting the reserved planes and the total planes crashed) and now we're 12....  :o....which means that only 24% of the pilots participating survived until today...:8
