When you start IVAP it should start teamspeka on it's own if you check the voice box in Ivap. When you switch ATC channel it should also switch you to the right teamspeak channel. It may need some configuring. Go to settings, sound input/output settings. Here you can configure wich key to use for push to talk. It also has an important feature activate "local test mode". Like this you can hear yourself and check on volmes etc..
Hope this helps. I just visited a bar to watch the local soccer team (PSV) play and can not see things very clear anymore. If needed I wil explain more later. End of March we will have another fly-inn. Please try and join then and we will help you trough it. If you want I can lso help you on a normal weekday from EGLL. JUst let me know when and I will try to be online.
Or the dolts on UNICOM who have VA on and leave the TS2 voice announcements turned on... ("Member left..." silence "Member joined..." over and over... At least there is a Mute function)
As Cyriel says there is no rule or regulation about PTT, but it is a courtesy to both pilots and controllers that everyone use it. The only TS2 rule is that your bandwidth settings (Options\Bandwidth) *MUST* both be set to 32Kb/s.
If you have registered FSUIPC (or the software for your joystick will do joystick to keyboard button mapping) you can map a joystick button to your PTT key.
Regards TS2 in general, I have trouble using IVAP to start TS2, so for me it's easier to start it manually before IVAP. And finally, word of warning - when you leave a controller to go to UNICOM, TS2 (for me, anyway) stays with the controller almost all the time... As always, YMMV.
Oh, and a bit of advice to everyone from someone that used TS2 for over a year with a Planetside clan before using it in FS: when using PTT, wait for a second or two after you push the button before you start speaking, and leave the button pressed for a second or two after you stop speaking. TS2 is a little "gung ho" with its transmissions and I often hear people cutting themselves off at the start and the end of their transmissions. I still have hopes of the TS2 team adding a PTT "squelch" at the start of broadcast so that people know to give it the second or two before speaking... (and a speech "token" to stop simultaneous broadcasts... and proper command side channels... Gah, I'm getting into complaints for the TS2 team, not EHM...)
