Hi Brian,

Well, normally this type of crash can occur in different scenarios ... Can occur climbing, taking off, cruising, landing, etc ... So, the destination or departure airport can or can't be resposible.

We will leave it this way. Only the airplane will be dismissed, so, let's hope all of us don't crash too many of them ;D

just thought up an idea, it was mentioned in the email that maintenance needs to be carried out on the planes once in a while. how about allowing maintenance flights to be flown by pilots from any airport straight to a hub (eg the flight may not have to be in the timetable) when a certain amount of operating miles have been reached? and then maybe an award can be set aside for pilots who regularly do maintenance flights etc

Edit : and oh if possible please report crashes of planes and buying of new planes in the news :] :P

The first part has some logic although it means that for that plane to be available again is conditioned by if thew pilot make that fligtht or not.

The extreme case, imagine that we have only one LSZH 747, and that he is in need to go to maintenance and no one place it on LSZH. So, no one would fly it because the airplane doesnt go to maintenace.

Airplanes go to maintenance in a automatic or manual way. Automatic the the pilot makes some penalties that could bring tha airplane so damaged that it go automatically to maintence. Manually if the Fleet Manager sees that that airplane has made so much hours that his reability factor is so low and that that airplane can have failures on flight.

About report crashes on the news it is already done. There are a news section on PP (independent from the main page new ones) that will tell you that :)

what i meant was that the plane would be scheduled for maintenance but could still fly (as requiring maintenance does not necessarily mean that it's spoiled, though with heightened likelyhood of failures occuring, if that is possible to implement) so that doesnt seem to be a likely problem

Hi,

Every pilot will start at his source hub. The one that you belong.
At the first 24 hours, all of us have an attribute called "Travelling mode" on. It means that a pilot can only make flights starting from the last destination point. This travelling mode is turned off after 24h, and it is turned on again everytime you make a flight.

This is made just to avoid that a pilot makes a flight from LFPG to EGLL, and after that, on the same day, makes another one from LPPT to LPPR. You have to "travel" to LPPT in 24 hours. That's the meaning of it.

Will there be any info about money earned from each flight?
eg. # of passengers carried minus fuel and maintanance costs etc...

That way we can implement the data and find each month which hub has been the most efficient, it would add more fun! :8

Hi Themis,

For now we don't have that feature implemented. Maybe on another version because that type of strategy needs to be deeply thinked (as we always do).

Hi Chris,

Yes.
Failures on airplanes are based on a complex algortihm given factors like total miles flown, total passengers, days since last maintenance, etc ...

If an airplane has a failure, it can be a random failure. Electrical, Hydraulical, Engine, besides others.

Even if you have your failures turned off on fs2004/fs2002, we turn them on. The same applies to crash detection on airplanes and building, and crash due to overstress.

So, every flight is unique. You don't know what will happen. BUT, don't start thinking that everytime you fly you'll have a failure. No. Failures have a very very minimum probability to happen, even more than right now all of our airplanes are new so the reability coeficients are as higher as possible.

Regards,

that might be hard, but you can see where you favourite plane is, and available flights.

You will have a limited number of flights available;D

I don't even get that far, when I try to set the parameters I get the message "error on page" in the bottom left hand corner
