Hi Bruno,

One question and a  few small errors in the event timetable. First the errors, leg 2 has the wrong year (2005) in the activation Date. Leg 3 has the wrong date period 2005-12-31 to 2006-01-02 instead of 2006-01-02 to 2006-01-04. Leg 4 and 5 has wrong year (2005) in both active and deact date. Small thing but I thougth I would mention them.
My question is how will the periode run. from activ date 0:01 to deact date 0:01 or will it be to 23:59?

I think it is great, I have been a fan of the Paris-Dakar since the days of Thierry Sabine, may he rest in peace

Hi,

About the incorrect dates we will correct it as soon as possible.
About the active/inactive period that time is compared with the server time.

Because the server is in USA i think there will be some 5/6 hours delay to the GMT time. So, I suggest you don't wait for the "last minute" to lock the next flight.
Basically here in portugal its six hour earlier than in USA, so I need to count with that...

Dear pilots,

The dates are now corrected.

Also we have posted new information on the page, giving you a zip file with all the flight plans to load on the flight simulator 2004 if you want to.

These flight plans were downloaded on flightsim.com and were made for Cessna 172, but we think they can be used on Embraer 120 with no problems ;) ...

Maybe one doubt, you are gonna load 8 planes up for this... what if they are all taken? Does it mean I miss out ? I am in Aussie so when the planes get loaded I am in bed :(

Hi,

The airplanes are already loaded.

Well, I think that there is a small probability of that to happen, Jay .. Basically who wants to have this challenge will needed to do 15 flights in about 15 days :) ... So, Simão also agreed with 8 airplanes.

Maybe we should say here who is going to participate. If we get more than 8 then we will load more airplanes, that's for sure :) ..

Don't forget that after you submit the pirep, LOCK the airplane immediatly again because if you don't do the 15 flights you don't receive the award :)

Sorry Bruno, to have to correct you. But you missed one in leg 3. And to bring up an old song, because I'm a bit thick headed. I'm going to alter my question so it perhaps is a bit easier to understand. When you use the term that a bit will end after two days, does that mean 48 hours or does it mean it will run all of the day (till the date change on the server in the US)?

Hi Jay,

ProPilot has feature that only shows flights that are active.

The first flight is activated at 31-12, so it will only be active on that date.

I made a small change on the "Lock Flight" section so you can see the local server time and date, and compare it to your respective local time :) ...

So, after the first second on the server 31-12 date, you can lock the flight because it will appear on the possible flights popup screen.

Merlin, leg 3 is corrected.

Also, I recomend you all to take a look at the page again please. It has improved in the design ;) ...

Regards,

Unfortunately the start date is wrong in the article.

Just to clear up one point I am unsure of - does the event have to be carried out using propilot.

Happy New Year everyone.

Hi,

To win the award (this time), yes, you have to do it in ProPilot.

When we deploy an event it can be done in 2 ways : Only ProPilot, or ProPilot + Normal mode.

This first event has to be done only in ProPilot.

About the vaflash mistake, i already contacted them to correct it. Thank you.

I'll do this event. At least i'll start it....let's see if i don't crash the Embraer....

Someone else?

Correct me if i'm wrong.First leg is at 31/12. This ''ll be activated in the PP one day before. So this must be activated at 30/12. Is it right? or my head is in the moon?

I cant find any E120s in LLPT (or LPPM) for htat matter. According to Flightlogger the flights S001 to S0016 are all class 1 flights. E120 is a class 3 plane.

If I do a destination search I find 6 Su80 waiting in LPPT with S001 as the flight number.

Where are the E120s??

The current server time is  2005-12-31 03:15:03 , so the planes should be visible!

I tried to lock an E120, but flight S001 was not one of the options - only class 3 flights!

Hello pilots.
Those of you who don't find the Embraer 120 in Propilot:
Try a search on the lock flight site where you enter lppt as airport and embraer 120 as the airplane.
If you dont find the routes in the flightlogger, just press the update key to download the current routes.
The airplane must be choosen before the flight in flightlogger.
First select Embraer 120 and then the flight.
You will get a red flashing text who warns you that the aircraft and route doesn't match. Just forget that message and start flying :)
