Yes, but it's only order's confirmation. Qatar Airways ordered 80 A350 on 30 May 2007 - on that day the agreement was signed.

That is an interesting point, I was reading a lot about this yesterday and was quite surprised to find out that both manufacturers report orders in completely different ways.

The Qatar order was not put on to Airbuses books until yesterday. In May, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed but the order was not "Firmed up"  and the final contracts signed until yesterday which was when it becomes official and a legally binding contract between both companies.

Boeing work slightly differently, when they receive a MOU from a customer, the order goes on their books which is why the Lion Air contract above was not a "New Order". The prior airbus orders above that were already on their books were signed off previously but the contracts had to be renegotiated as the specifics of the plane had changed.

Still, it was a pretty blinding day for Airbus, they over doubled their order book for the year in one day! Although  I am sure Boeing will have a few tricks up their sleeve.... Probably leaving the big announcements till later in the week. The US Airways announcement was the big shock though, it would seem most people in the industry expecting at least some of that to go to Boeing!

The thing that really surprises me is that the A32X series is still so popular with Airlines. The A320 has essentially not been changed for almost 20 years!!!!

Good pilots keep their number of landings equal to their number of takeoffs. Takeoffs are optional but landings are Mandatory.

pw - Airbus A300-600R/A310 from CLS - there is nothing to dislike - almost perfect!

But generally speaking I prefer my beloved MD-11! ;)

Wilco/Feelthere Airbus series 1 is okay, a few bugs but about the best. If you are not in a rush, hold on to your money and wait to see what the AirlinerXP airbus is like.

I hear the models are ok but the Flight Dynamics and the panels are very average!

from the screenshots, the panels do look fairly poor tbh, and thats the main reason I would buy a Payware Airbus, I'm more than content with the IFDG models...

Yes, indeed - good news for the A380 - the most controversial Airbus project. They have only problems with A380 so far - maybe Paris Air Show is the first "fresh air breath" for the A380.

PS: For me A380 is totally...shapeless. Some planes are pretty, some planes are ugly, but A380 is shapeless. A big flying frog...:s

i'm suprised that Boeing only sold 129 planes compared to Airbus' 652, thats like 20%  the number of what Airbus sold! ;D I wonder who is the customer of the private A380:o

Can I just point out to all the "doubting Thomas's" that of course Airbus was going to have lots of orders in their own house... Boeing don't have a "killer app" to be going to France and rubbing in 'buses face.

If it had been an event of similar magnitude in Seattle, I'd fully expect Boeing to show a similar "we're better" ratio in their favour.

Although this is a pretty resounding success for Airbus, it must be said that a lot of those orders above are merely MOU's (or LOI's in Boeing speak!) which means the deal can be changed. This said they have picked up well over 400 firm orders. Boeing never fairs well at any airshow, they tend to announce deals as they happen rather than flying the airline chiefs in to airshows on an all expenses paid jolley to Airbus land. :) Doesn't matter whether your Airbus or Boeing, you have to tip your hat to Airbus and it's good for the industry as well! Robert, has Mr. Leahy contacted you about A350XWB's yet???? :)
