Has any one else been hit by the 170 point penalty for not having landing lights on, l got this amount for not having my landing lights on as l passed FL100, as it was a short flight; 50Nm l did not go above 5000ft!!, the lights were on all the time from take off, is this a bug in the logger or am i reading things wrong. Hmm what aircraft was it? Theres one of the Airbuses that turns the light off automatically when raising the gear, but i doubt you'd use that for a short flight... Could you have pressed something in your keyboard by mistake?

I can also concur that this a first for me.
I knew about a payware's 747 having LL problems but never on small planes.

As Mariano said, are you positive you didn't accidentally trigger anything?

Bruce,

as another tip you can go into FS's options on Key Assignments and look at the lights. See which keys are specified (usually 'L') and change it to something harder to accidentally press (Alt-L for example).

Browse through the rest of the light switches and do this accordingly. It is very easy to accidentally switch them, not to mention accidentally clicking just a little to the left or right and hitting the lights by mistake. (Actually clicking the lights in error is far less dramatic than clicking on a power supplu or worse still, gear extention)

Don't forget, it only takes a split second and FLLogger will record it.
Let us know how it goes.

Sotiris is very right, I learnt that i should change the light's assignment to something more complicated the hard way. However if it gave you the lights penalty cos you pressed the L key, it also gives you a "engine started without beacon" penalty. Were you flying propilot? If you were, see if it recorded both of those penalties. If it did, i'd bet my money on hitting the L key by accident.

Thanks Sortis and Mariano, l have just flown the Beechcraft again on pro pilot and had no penalties, so it looks like i must have pressed the L key at some time, will do as you say and and assign a new key for the lights, thanks for the help, regards Bruce
