Can I use my own equivalent plane?
« on: July 12, 2008, 01:04:52 pm »
I am currently new in Class 5 and intend to fly the B737-800 (perhaps the Airbus 310-200 as well) of the main division.

I was just wondering since I have several enhanced A320 and B738 on my personal fleet that are equivalent to the Class 5 fleet of EHM.

The question is whether I could use these enhanced a/c from my personal hangar instead of those of EHM? Naturally I would fly on EHM callsign with flight logger, etc.

Also another reason is that some of those (might buy a payware 737 too) might be more suitable for my recently acquired GoFlight MCP-PRO + EFIS.

I think you can. I have a Short 360 edition I have downloaded from avsim, and I'm using it instead of the Short 360v4 from EHM.

Only reason is that I think the v2 from EHM was the greatest Short 360 ever, and I'm using a version equal to that. :) Have no problems with that so far:)

Use the aircraft you enjoy to fly

Outside of ProPilot - absolutely no problem using an alternative model Didimo. Help yourself to whichever model you are most familiar/happy with.

Inside ProPilot, only the two/three aircraft in the fleet (FS2002/FS2004/PMDG) are accepted by the automation within PP.

Thanks to both for the prompt answers. So far I have only flown the a/c downloaded from the standard fleet. But well, now I am finally on my type of craft and wanted to fly my enhanced versions.

My POSKY B738 with a different kind (and enhanced) Molina panel (not the one downloaded from EHM) works fine and even responds to most GF MCP Pro commands.

Pity about the ProPilot thing :( I have enjoyed the PP after all and was hoping to do my Class 5 career in PP (as I did Class 4).  I guess I will have to do my Class 5 career without PP :'(

Hi Didimo,

officially you should fly the EHM painted airplanes... because that is why we paint them for the pilots ;)

But.

The panel is a different story. Because, everybody have its own beloved panels for each types, and I understand it is not always the same with the one we provide. That is not a problem. You can install (or simply alias) and use any panel you want to your aircraft, and only because of the panel, you do not need to choose a different model or a different painting.

If you still have technical questions about it just tell us ;)
