As you'll have seen elsewhere on the site, we will be launching our exciting new Division, "WILD" with a themed ProPilot Event which begins on Friday 15th October. The Event will be suitable for all levels of experience and the prop plane we're using is a beauty to fly so everyone is welcome to join in

We're still going to keep you in the dark about some of the specifics (we're cruel like that  ) but if you'd like to try something completely new here at EHM, please sign up in this thread with your name and Pilot ID. We'll reserve you a plane and more details will appear very soon in the Events page listing

Will the paint be available for the Aerosoft Twin Otter X too? 'Cause that's the one I'll be bringing along for the ride...
If not, is there a *.psd file (or another layered format that Photoshop eats) available that I could try to slap onto her?

Currently there's a freeware repaint for MSFS and a freeware repaint for X-plane.

The Aerosoft one was spoken about (lovely model), but I don't know if any of the painters have it.

Wait for Robert or Stef to wake up today.

In order to be ready for the event which is the plane more similar to the DHC-6 the Beech 1900 D or the DHC- Dash8 I mean for practice in PPflights the more similar propeller to DHC-6

Between these two, the B1900D is closer.
But I wonder: could the Eurocargo Shorts be even closer? I think it's more STOL-like than the Beech, which the Twin Otter definitely is.

For X-Plane users, the event page now links to the WILD repaint for skycycle's v9 DHC-6.

FS2004/FSX users just need to wait a little bit longer for their repaint.

Those of you that keep abreast of the forum will know that I recently modified the Tour of the Danube page to a new format I want to see used exclusively throughout the DB, namely always providing the FS(X, in this case) GPS direct altitude, heading and distance for all flights within the VA. To that end, see below

The same caveat I used on the TotD page stands for this event: just because the GPS-Direct data has been provided doesn't mean you want to use it. You'll miss out on so much by just hopping from A-to-B. Use Andrei's VFR routing for a far more interesting and instructive flight experience, and use the GPS-direct data just to ensure you're where you think you are.

I've also attached "source" files (in ODS and XLS formats) and a PDF as well. Share and enjoy...

Regarding the FS repaint, we're still not quite there in terms of an installer, but if any of you want to practice just download the appropriate wheeled DHC-6 from [ Premier Aircraft Designs ] and get practicing.

Trust me, though, it's like flying a helicopter on rails. Almost as forgiving as the DC-3, and a whole lot easier to take-off in - none of that tail-dragger forward pressure to get the tail up followed by light back pressure to get airborne.

Plus, if you if you take the DCT route on leg one, you are bound to get shot out of the air over White Sands Missile range. Those guys over there use drones the size of these Otters to do live missile tests on (believe me, I've seen it IRL). Also on the west bank, there is a wildlife preserve that you are not supposed to fly over...

I'll see if I can dig up my base (white) paint for that (Aerosoft) one, and copy - paste the EHM paint on as well as that goes (once it is published). I just hope it still sits on my old computer, 'cause I could not find it on the new one...
