After looking at a picture of an Easyjet 737, I noticed that they have masive webtitles. How about a class 4/5 Jet is put up with some large webtitles like this!

Great idea! The 737 could have a special pain with euroharmony.com on the side!:)

What would you say for a PMDG B738 repaint first? I got the paintkit and it looks very simple.

AMD X4-955 3.2GHz / Gigabyte 770T / 4 GB DDR / Gigabyte GTS450 1GB DDR
Samsung 226BW@1680x1050 / WinXP.3 / FS9.1 / FSX.1 / Saitek Cyborg 3DGold

THEN HERE WE GO !!!!!

Here is a link for the package.

Simply make a new texture folder for the PMDG-738, and unzip these files into the new folder. Then add the new texture variant into the CFG too ;) I have not tested it, so it is only beta version. Screenshots of my work appreciated.

Robert,

Totally amazing! Worked pretty much first time for me, so to avoid anyone else out there suffering, here is my addition to the install instructions;

1. Go to the root PMDG 737-800 with winglets folder (C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Aircraft\PMDG737-800-Winglets in my case).

2. Copy the entire "texture" folder to "texture.EHM".

3. Unpack the repaint zip file into "texture.EHM", overwrite existing files.

4. Open the aircraft.cfg in the root PMDG 737-800 with winglets folder with your text editor of choice.

5. Copy the first three [fltsim.X] sections (if you have more than three) to between the last of the [fltsim.X] sections and the [General] section. Renumber these three new sections to fit the numbering scheme.

6. In each of the three new sections, change the "title=" and "texture=" sections. Insert "EuroHarmony" (or somesuch) into "title=" after "B737-800" and change "texture=" to "texture=EHM". If you want, change "atc_airline=" to "atc_airline=Harmony" (this will only effect offline ATC).

Job done... Now I'm off to have a proper play with it...

EDIT: In recognition of a job well done, I grabbed a few screenshots (800x600...) that I'll upload to the library in a wee bit, but my new .sig pic is just a taster...

If you do the quickstart flight under select flight>PMDG>quickstart, and then follow the mannual, it should work, the only hard bit for me was starting the engines but I sharp found out that I needed the batteries on:]

As long as you aren't starting it from totally cold, it's pretty easy to get the PMDG 737NG to ready to taxi (apart from the FMC, o'course...) The "normal procedures" chapter takes you through it in way more detail than is strictly necessary, but make sure you have them to hand for your first few flights and follow them religeously until you've got the key points memorised. Also, a copy of Fred Clausen's 737NG tutorial is a useful thing to have around [ 737TNG Flight Tutorial; it's on the PMDG website ]. It takes you through an entire flight (in the US, but I can forgive him that) from cold dep to cold dest.

In general, I can now go from cold and offline to taxiing online in under quarter of an hour for "short" flights (EGLL to EHAM, frinstance) where there's not much FMC work.

As for that warning horn, I got it in my first flight in the 738 but haven't had it since. I'll have a play when I get home tonight and see if I can replicate (and solve...)

Oh, that is when you take off, if you add throttle with 0/full flaps or parking brake, you hear a warning, just set some flaps and add full throttle

That would explain why I heard it when trying to taxi (and being a little over zealous with the throttle...)

I am sorry folks, but I got suddenly a very important real life project that I have to finish until 15th. This means I will not have time to paint the planes. Sorry. I will try to do those in the celebrations holiday.

Never... ;D

Just to add to the confusion, on my departure this evening (EHM-3006, but I won't be filing it with Harmony...) the A/T decided to put the throttles to max after push back (had the parking brake on thankfully), the horn didn't sound. Cyriel turns up as EGLL_TWR, we do the whole clearance and taxi thing and I get out to the runway, set the plane up for takeoff (MCP speed, alt and HDG set, flaps 10deg, autobrake to RTO), hit the TOGA button and the horn starts blaring (making the speed calls hard to hear)! Once I rotate and the plane leaves the ground the horn stops... Curiouser and curiouser...

Hey folks, with what PC specs can you run the B738 product? PMDG says for best performance, a PIV with 512MB RAM recommended. Is that true?

i know it is not answering your question about the 738 but the 736/7 can run on a PIV with 256MB RAM and a 32mb Graphic card. I use a 64mb GE-Force 4 and have 256MB RAM and it works fine, i know for a fact to run the 738 you must have FS2004 so by you specs in the sig, it looks like you may have to do without. Something to do with incredible accuracy unrecreatable in FS8
