The Boeing 767 is a medium range widebody twinjet, launched in 1978 and entered service in 1982. It was the main competitor to the Airbus A310 and, with more than 900 aircraft sold, was much more successful. The Boeing 767-300 is a stretched version of the 767-200 and is used most widely on Transatlantic routes. The 767-300ER extended range version is used to reach far transcontinental and European destinations.
