The Boeing 777 family was introduced in 1989. The aircraft fills the size gap between the Boeing 767 and 747. The aircraft, which shares the nosecone of the 767 is built at the Boeing plant in Everett, and entered service in 1995.

The 777-200 family consists of the initial -200 series, the -200ER with additional 1,800 nm range but still with maximum capacity of 440 passengers . The 777-200LR (Long Range) Worldliner is an ultra long-range version and is designed to be the longest range aircraft in the world. The aircraft program was cancelled for a while but finally entered service in 2006. Max range is 9,400 nm while carrying 301 passengers. The aircraft is fitted with new style raked wingtip extensions.

The VIP version is technically a 777-200LR with an executive interior and reduced seating giving even greater range. The latest version of this aircraft was made by Project Opensky and includes a detailed Virtual Cockpit.
