The IL-96-300 is based on the older and larger Il-86, but it features a number of new technologies previously the exclusive domain of modern western built airliners. These include a triplex fly by wire flight control system, a six screen EFIS flight deck, some composite construction (including the flaps and main deck floors), and winglets. The modern Aviadvigatel (Soloviev) PS-90A turbofans comply with ICAO Stage 3 noise limits.
EuroHarmony was the first large European airline to use a modern Eastern widebody aircraft. We used to fly 10 IL-96s on Class 6 routes, mainly from our LGAV and EHAM hubs. The aircraft was made by Mike Stone in Gmax.
